On Monday, Ann and I were on our way to the Waimea golf course but it was raining too much and so we decided to go for a drive instead. It hasn't really rained here for a quite a while and so I won't complain about it. Near the golf course there is a road called the Old Mamalahoa Hwy. Its a quiet narrow winding road which ends in the town of Honakaa which is back at the new Mamaloahoa Hwy, also known as Hwy 19. One of the interesting features of this old road is that at a few locations, right next to the road, there are some caves to explore. On another day, if we remember to take at least 2 flashlights with us, we might check one of these caves out.

When we got back to Waimea, it was still sprinkling and so we decided to get our flip flop shoes and drive down to Waikoloa Beach resort for some warmth and to treat ourselves to coffee and dessert. After our snack, we did some snooping at the Marriott hotel and then walked along the adjacent Anaeho'omalu Beach (more commonly known as A-Bay).

On Tuesday morning, we decided to walk to this little place in town which is well known for its breakfast. Ann and I ordered the pancakes which were very good but so big that we should have only placed one order and shared. Ally had the french toast which looked fantastic.

On Tuesday afternoon, Francis and Rita Dallaire payed us a visit. We had a really nice visit. It was pretty cool to see them show up on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. They will have the bike for the next 5 days and so it was fun talking to them about different roads that we thought would make for some great rides.
