All day Tuesday, Ann, Allison and I waited anxiously for the day to go by so that we could drive to the airport and pick up Craig and Jenna who were scheduled to arrive around 9 PM. Allison did some homework, Ann did some reading and I hit a few golf balls on the range. We had supper and were finally on our way to the airport at 7:30.
It has been so nice having the whole crew here for the last couple of days. It really feels like home now. Some things don't change. Craig always manages to lose something on airplanes and this time it was his toiletry bag which contained his glasses and contacts. At least it wasn't his passport this time. However, this unfortunate circumstance afforded us the privilege of spending more family time in the car. We drove back to the airport on Wednesday morning in the hope that his things would show up, but they did not. We felt that it was important for Craig to SEE Hawaii and so we went to Costco.We called our eye doctor in St. Paul who faxed Craig's prescription to the optical office in Costco. By 1 pm, Craig was able to see Hawaii and so we headed north, down the hi-way, to Waialea Bay.

It is very obvious that people are on their Christmas holidays now. The quiet little beach that we had visited last week and basically had to ourselves, was now packed. It was hard to find a place to park. There were also young families with children. There is life on the beaches now.
